 “I was involved with gangs since I was 10 years old. I have been in and out of prison, and lived the lifestyle until I was 28. The situation seemed completely normal to me because it was the only life I knew. My friends in the gang were my family since my real family did not show me that I was loved or wanted. I stopped caring about myself or anyone else around me.  I was stabbed, shot and beat up many times, and I lost a lot of friends to violence.

Help came to me in the form of my two sons. Everything changed for me when I became a father. Feeling my sons’ love made me want to make better choices. Knowing that I was responsible for their lives, I decided to change my life. Now I spend as much time with them as possible, and I speak to help kids growing up like I did know that they have better life choices to make. I am now happy and able to feel and express love to others.”
